Nothing but victories for Jurassic Knights in the first round of the Asian Championship

Aluron Virtu CMC Zawiercie players did great in the first round of the AVC Asian Senior Men’s Championship. National teams of Japan and Australia won all their matches.

Japan National Team with Taichiro Koga lost only one set in three games. Libero of Aluron Virtu CMC played in the 3-0 win against Hong Kong and watched his teammates beating Thailand 3-0 and Chinese Taipei 3-1.

Australia NT led by Jurassic Knights’ coach Mark Lebedew competed in much more demanding Group A. In the first match Volleyroos were already leading 2-0 against Qatar but their rivals tied the game. In the fifth set Aussies kept their nerves and won 15-10. The following day they defeated Sri Lanka in three sets and in the last group game they unexpectedly beat 3-1 Iran, hosts and favorites of the tournament. Arash Dosanjh played as a starter in all three matches.

Both teams qualified for the second round, in which Japan will face South Korea and Pakistan while Australia will play against China and India. Matches will be played on September 17 and 18. Standings will also include results from games against Chinese Taipei and Iran, respectively. All teams will qualify to quarter-finals but the seeding will be determined by the final standings.
