This is the news our fans have been waiting for! Uroš Kovačević has extended his contract with Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. The Serbian outside hitter will stay with the club for another two years.

Uroš Kovačević came to Zawiercie in 2021 and is the first Jurassic Knight from Serbia. His amazing skills and expressiveness during games made him instantly steal the hearts of fans. The outside hitter (who in the last two matches played as a setter by necessity) extended the contract with Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie for the next two years.

“Uroš decided to stay with us for the next two years and it speaks for itself. He already knows how the club works from the inside, he got to know the whole community built around it and decided that he wants to be a part of it. He believes in what we are building year by year. He proved, especially in the last matches, that we can count on him even in the most difficult moments. His fighting spirit, his heart and his attitude on the court create the archetype of the Jurassic Knight,” the president of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, Kryspin Baran said.

Uroš Kovačević, 28, has so far played in 17 PlusLiga games. The Serbian scored 297 points – 266 kills, 24 blocks and 7 aces. These statistics currently give him the third place in the league’s top scorer ranking and the second place in the top attackers rankings. He also played three times in the Polish Cup and scored a total of 30 points.

In 20 played gameshe was selected MVP five times. He won one of these awards in the away league match against Cuprum Lubin, which was probably one of the the oddest in his career. Due to the health problems of Miguel Tavares and Maxi Cavanna, he played as a setter and led our team to a 3-2 win.
